One of the most anticipated recreational activities in the summer season is THE BAIXEO.
Under the motto "Baixa como poidas" (GO DOWN ANY WAY YOU CAN), during this leisure day, people descent a section of the Eo river in boats, or all kinds of floating gadgets, in many cases made by the participants. It is a non-competitive activity that takes place in a magnificent friendly and enjoyable atmosphere.
Once they arrive at the finish line, located in the recreational area of Pozo da Ola, the tasting of a typical and very characteristic dessert called Gran Faragull-Eo is waiting for everyone, including those who do not participate in the descent of the river. This dessert is made by mixing water, milk, wheat flour (can also be corn flour), eggs and salt. This dough is fried in an iron pan shredding it with a spatula or slotted spoon, so that it is cut into very small pieces. This is usually accompanied by torreznos (Fried pork skin) and chorizos, milk, honey, sugar, etc..., according to taste.
